Kabisko Kaba is originally from Guinea, West Africa. He was raised in a family with 8 siblings, and expressed his creativity through dance and acrobatics. He started dancing with the ballet Les Merveilles d'Afrique at the age of 14, through which he further developed the dances of his culture and Malinke ethnic heritage. Les Merveilles was formed in 1986 by the legendary Kemoko Sano, the main choreographer of Les Ballets Africaines, the national dance troupe of Guinea. Kabisko came to the US in 1998, and has been teaching and performing primarily throughout New England. Kabisko gives so much to our community not only through his teaching and performing, but also my hosting many other master African dance teachers and drummers.
