a sabar drum workshop. (N52-199, Endicott World Music Room)

6:30-7:30pm  -  Griots Demystified:
a pre-concert symposium panel featuring griot elder Masikh Mbaye,
with Prof. Eric Charry (Wesleyan),
Prof. Patricia Tang (MIT) and Amadou Seck (Nobles).
Kresge Auditorium, MIT.

8:00pm  -  Griot Celebration:
African music, drum and dance performance featuring the Mbaye
Family Drum Troupe, Rambax MIT, Balla
Tounkara, Balla Kouyate, and other guest artists.
Directed by Lamine TourĂ© and Patricia Tang.  Kresge Auditorium, MIT.

All events free and open to the public. Made possible by Music and
Theater Arts, the Council for the Arts, the SHASS Dean's Office at
