[Wadabo_updates] Call to Artists - Cambridge Carnival International 2007

Dear Cambridge Area Artists:

On behalf of the Carnival Committee of Cambridge Carnival International, Inc., it is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the 15th Annual Cambridge Carnival International on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at our new venue in Kendall Square, Cambridge.  All groups participating in the parade must register and in costumes to be eligible to receive a cash prize.

This year's Carnival promises to be even more spectacular, featuring live Music, DJ Sound Systems, a KidsFest section, ethnic foods, crafts, and much more. On August 26th, the festival takes place from 12 Noon until 7pm. 

The costume parade will begin at 12:00pm SHARP!  Band Leaders must assemble on BLACKSTONE STREET BETWEEN WESTERN AVENUE AND RIVER STREET AT 10AM. The parade route has been expanded this year and will span 1.5 miles. The parade will begin at 1pm and starts near the Charles River at River and Blackstone Streets, passes through Central Square on Massachusetts Avenue, continues up Main Street and ends in Kendall Square in Cambridge.

The festival site is located in Kendall Square on Main Street between Vassar Street and Broadway, and on either side of Ames Street. Festivities in Kendall Square start at 12 noon and end at 7pm. It includes live music stages, ethnic foods, exotic arts and crafts, steel drums, dancing, and free interactive activities for children. 

The cash prize breakdown for Carnival 2007, based on the enclosed criteria is as follows:

First Prize $2,500
Second Prize $1,500
Third Prize $1,000
