[Wadabo_updates] This World Music summer events

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!:

Feeling like spring will never come? Well, it'll be here sooner than you think, followed by a summer full of sizzling hot opportunities to learn African drumming. This summer, ThisWorldMusic is giving you 3 great chances to delve deeper into this dynamic, up-and-coming cultural tradition. Come drum, dance and sing with us!:

June 29-July 3:
Central CT State University Summer Music Institute (MUS 557 / 2 credits)

July 16-July 18:
UMass Amherst: African Drumming in the Classroom (MUS 596D / 2 credits)

July 31-Aug. 21 :
UMass African Drum & Dance Field Study (MUS 597Z / 6 credits)

And good news! We have extended the application deadline for the UMass Ghana trip to April 10. In this 3-week cultural immersion course worth 6 university credits or 135 PDPs, students will live for 2 weeks in the village of Kopeyia, staying in theDagbe Cultural Center's clean, comfortable, dormitory-style accommodations and receiving hands-on training from indigenous artists in drumming, dancing, singing and visual arts. An opportunity like this comes along once in a lifetime, so sign up today!:
