Café Teatro - Noche Cubana
Center for Latino Arts (Jorge Hernandez Cultural Center)
85 West Newton Street Boston, Massachusetts 02118
Hosted by Alberto Vasallo Jr. and El Mundo, this event will offer an opportunity to embark on a "musical journey" through Cuba's rich musical landscape. Featuring some of the finest New York and Boston-based, Cuban musicians and dancers, Noche Cubana will present an array of musical styles, from the age-old religious music and dance of Santería and Palo to the secular Rumba, to the European-influenced Danzón and Cha-Cha-Chá, and the luscious Boleros from the "Filin" era.
Café Teatro is New England's only Latino performance series featuring some of the best local, regional, national and international Latino artists, from the traditional to the contemporary including music, dance, theatre and film/video.
Worried about parking in the South End?
There's no need; they provide free parking with $5 rountrip shuttle service from a nearby secure parking lot at each Bembé and Café Teatro.
