"On stage he is a force of nature, fierce in his intensity and searing honesty." —Washington Times
Marc Bamuthi Joseph fuses hip-hop, spoken word and live music in Scourge, a powerful look at the history of his native Haiti. Shining his passionate light on questions of identity, cultural legacy and assimilation, Bamuthi Joseph explores the narrow space between history, myth and speculation. Scourge is a rich collaboration between Bamuthi Joseph and renowned Latin jazz composer John Santos, choreographers Rennie Harris and Adia Whitaker, director Kamilah Forbes and the emerging voices of three young writers from San Francisco's Youth Speaks.
