1 - Lamine Toure presents Sabar Dance Classes
with Pape N'Diaye

Thursday, January 18th & January 25th 6:30pm-8:00pm (Lamine Toure's class)
Lamine is traveling at home in Senegal from the end of December through the middle of February 2007. During his absence, there will be Sabar dance classes with master teachers Paa Seck & Pape N'Diaye. Pape is scheduled to teach the next two classes. Classes are $12 per student &  will have live accompaniment by master Sabar drum artists. All are welcome. For more information please contact wadabo@gmail.com or visit www.DanceComplex.org

Pape N'Diaye is from Senegal, West Africa and has toured throughout Africa and around the world with the Ballet National L'Aliguère du Senegal, Cinquihme Dimension, Compagnie Jant-Bi, Ballet Sinomew, Forêt Sacrée, and the Manhattan Dance School. He has extensive training in all styles of traditional West African dance as well as in contemporary dance forms. In 2004 he made his home in Boston where he is known for teaching dynamic, high-energy djembe and sabar dance classes. Visit www.PapeNDiaye.com for more infomation.

 2 - LAST TWO CLASSES WITH FATOU KEITA!!

As many of you know we have a FEMALE African dance teacher from Mali
with us now while Joh Camara is in Mali. Her name is Fatou Keita and she
travels by bus all the way from NYC to teach us here in Boston.
Her classes as of late have been small
compared to her immense talent and grace,
AND SHE IS ONLY HERE WITH US FOR TWO MORE CLASSES!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 20TH, 6:30-8:00PM
& MONDAY, JANUARY 22ND, 7:30-9:00PM
AT BEONE STUDIO 62 WARREN ST., DUDLEY SQ., ROXBURY
As always, classes are $12, with LIVE percussion
by local drum masters

3 - CLASSES WITH JEAN APPOLON THIS WEEKEND:

Jean is traveling to Montreal this weekend and will not be with us.

PATRICK CASKY WILL TEACH JEAN'S HAITIAN DANCE CLASS ON SATURDAY, 01/20
(1:30-3:00pm, $13 per student)

MODERN TECHNIQUE CLASS IS CANCELED ON SUNDAY, 01/21

Classes will resume as per ususal next weekend, 01/27 & 28.

Patrick Casky is a gifted dancer who trained with Lavinia Williams,
among other Haitian dance legends, so lets come out and support him!
Thanks in advance to Patrick for teaching us and allowing our beloved
Haitian dance vibe to continue uninterrupted.
