Dear African Dance & Music Community,

SUNDAY, MAY 25, 1:00pm-5:00pm

HAITIAN VODOU SONG WORKSHOP in Boston, MA

Manbo Marie Maude Evans presents a workshop on Haitian Vodou songs, featuring live drumming by master drummer Marseille!

The praise songs for the lwa, the spirits of Haitian Vodou, are central to the practice of the religion. These songs are also one of the most significant artistic achievements of the African diaspora.

Manbo Maude will teach groupings of songs which are useful for developing a personal spiritual practice.

Emphasis will be on songs for the Rada lwa, the cool-headed Vodou spirits said to come directly from Gine, ancestral Africa.

Audio recording devices welcome!
